Surprisingly, there are over 200 diseases that may cause arthritis! In general terms, arthritis can be divided into two main categories: (1) non-inflammatory arthritis and (2) inflammatory arthritis. This article will focus on the main cause of arthritis in each category: Osteoarthritis (OA) as a cause of non-inflammatory arthritis and Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) as a cause of inflammatory arthritis.
